PIANO LESSONS IN VIENNA


Piano lesson in Vienna at the music school take place both individually and privat in the fields of classical music.

 Abigail Gower ​is a Doctoral candidate at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, studying Musikwissenshaft, as well as a dedicated piano teacher in Vienna. Originally Gower is from the United States, but has lived in Vienna since 2017. As a pianist, she has studied with internationally renowned teachers and performers, including Chiharu Naruse, Phillip Silver, Spencer Myer, Brian Moll and Barbara Moser. Her piano career has focused on philanthropic and charitable causes, including the establishment and organization of the Dana Farber Concert Series, a string of chamber music and lied concerts that raised over 1000 US dollars for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to fund cancer research. The second installment of her concert series in 2017 resulted in a New England chamber concert tour with her trio, Matisse Trio. The concert series also culminated in Gower premiering  a piano concerto with a full orchestra of students from New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, and The Boston Conservatory. She performed as a pianist for Longy School of Music’s critically acclaimed production of Schubert’s ‘Winterreise in a New Light,’ as well as being a pianist for Boston Opera Collaborative productions. Additionally, for two seasons she was an accordionist on gondola tours down the Charles River with the company Gondola di Venezia out of Boston. She is actively involved in education in several different ways, including having taught at multiple private music institutes in the Boston area, being the resident music director and conductor for the Congregational Society of Westborough, and being a guest performer/assistant lecturer for Harvard University music seminars. She has continued combining her passions for music and humanitarian Causes as she established a career as a piano teacher in Vienna, by working for and performing with Open Piano for Refugees, a charitable foundation project supported by “Wir Sind Wien” that raises money for the Non-Profit organization DoReMi, a music school that offers free lessons to refugees, as well as any children whose families struggle financially. She is currently a piano teacher at DoReMi , as well as being on staff as an accompanist at Performing Center Austria, located in Vienna.
